The Christmas Bear by Henrietta Stickland and illustrated by Paul Stickland
One of my favorite books to read with my children at Christmastime was the Christmas Bear by Henrietta Stickland and illustrated by Paul Stickland. It is the story of a little polar bear who falls through the snow and ends up in Santa’s workshop. Santa pretends that the bear is there for a job and gives a tour . Each room is filled with all the delightful things one would expect at the North Pole. This exclusive view provides access to the toy shop where all kinds of fun toys are made from stuffed animals to trains, the elves quarters, and how they even make their electricity. After the tour, he has a snack with Santa and a cheeky penguin as all of his favorites are served. In the end, Santa gives the little bear a ride home in his sleigh. His parents are there waiting for their child, the best Christmas gift of all ! Each page is a treat for the eyes and the imagination. The illustrations are done in beautiful detail with vivid colors, making this a book to enjoy year after year!
